A beautiful example from one of the finest English Gunmakers.

A James Woodward & Sons 16g Sidelock ejector 29″ barrels.

This gun has toplever & rib numbered ‘2’ in gold, arcaded fences, best foliate-scroll engraving, case colour-hardening & a rich highly-figured stock with Prince of Wales pistol grip and ebonite pistol grip-cap the barrels are stunning struck off & are 29 inch a standard for Woodward as this was seen to be most efficient.

Woodwards had build an excellent reputation for best guns mostly being sold to the aristocracy, you needed to have deep pockets to be on the order books. These guns are not common & even rarer to find in a 16g.
